Origin
The obsession started early.
Aquariums became a part of life at five years old, beginning with freshwater systems built alongside a grandfather. No matter how many filters were added, the tanks never thrived. That frustration became curiosity. Curiosity became experimentation. And eventually, understanding.
The realization came early: success wasn’t about keeping livestock alive — it was about controlling and shaping the water itself to match the animals within it.
That mindset carried forward into saltwater systems and eventually into working at a reef store. While my job didn’t require it, customers who trusted my advice began asking me to come to their homes to drill tanks, set up systems, design and build sumps, handle plumbing, and configure equipment. I did so off the books, and each project increased both the challenge and my fixation. The more complex the system, the deeper the focus became. Mastery wasn’t optional. It was the goal.
Eventually, I began building my own systems. Two custom aquariums I had ordered for personal use failed catastrophically, resulting in the loss of livestock and thousands of dollars. Those failures sparked a mission: to design and build tanks that were truly engineered, not just assembled.
Friends, family, and local hobbyists began requesting custom tanks. What started as helping others set up systems snowballed into building full custom aquariums. Over time, this evolved into a professional operation — the foundation of NueWayve.
From that point forward, no other tanks commercial or custom were used for my systems. What began as a hobby became a company dedicated to engineering tanks that push industry standards, innovate new technologies, and deliver systems built to higher, measurable performance than anything else on the market.
NueWayve was founded to solve a problem the aquarium industry learned to accept instead of challenges: structural limits disguised as tradition.

The Problem With the Industry
Structural failures were treated as rare events, but the patterns were clear: tanks were being built the same way they always had been, reinforced cosmetically instead of structurally. Armor seams existed, but they were overlays — NOT true load paths.
That was unacceptable.
So, the approach changed.
Instead of reinforcing tanks, they were reimagined.
Instead of copying methods, they were engineered.
Rather than adding trim, the goal became creating a fully integrated structural system: increasing bonded surface area, improving load transfer, and reducing deflection through real engineering.
This work became the foundation for WayveSeams and WayveCore.
